How to use it
- Type the name, channel name or message you want to style.

- Tap it to copy, then paste it into your display name, server nickname, channel or role name, bio or a message.
Where Discord fonts work
Discord has no font menu, so these styles swap your letters for Unicode characters that look like other fonts. They work in your display name, your nickname on each server, your About Me, server and channel names, role names and messages.
Your username is the exception. Since Discord's 2023 username change, usernames only allow lowercase letters, numbers, underscores and full stops, so put the fancy version in your display name instead.
Fonts for channel names and roles
Server owners use small caps, bubble letters and square letters to make channel lists easier to scan, often with an emoji in front, like 💬・ᴄʜᴀᴛ. Discord keeps channel names in lowercase and turns spaces into hyphens, so styles built from capital-only characters, like black bubbles 🅒🅗🅐🅣, are a way to get capitals into a channel name. Keep role names short, since they show on the profile of everyone who has the role.
Discord's own formatting
In messages, Discord's built-in formatting is easier to read and search than Unicode fonts: **bold**, *italic*, __underline__, ~~strikethrough~~ and ||spoilers||. Start a line with #, ## or ### for a heading, or with -# for small grey subtext. Use the fonts on this page for the places that formatting doesn't reach, like names, channels and roles.
FAQ
How do I change my font on Discord?
You can't change Discord's font itself, but you can paste text in another style. Type it above, copy a Discord font and paste it into your display name, bio or message.
Can I use these fonts in my Discord username?
No. Usernames only accept lowercase letters, numbers, underscores and full stops. Fancy fonts work in your display name and server nicknames.
How do I make small text on Discord?
In a message, start the line with -# and a space. For names and channels, copy tiny text or small caps from the small text group above.
What font does Discord use?
Discord's interface uses gg sans, a typeface it introduced in 2023. The styles on this page are characters drawn by your device's fonts, not gg sans.
Can I use Discord fonts in channel names?
Yes. Channel names accept Unicode letters and emoji. Discord lowercases them and turns spaces into hyphens, so check how the name looks after you save it.
